An iPhone sighting??!!

I saw this story HERE... Could this be the first iPhone sighting...
Here's the story:
Could this be the first true and proper iPhone sighting in public? Like, for really reals this time? The pic was snapped by Engadget pal Mark Trammell on the CalTrain -- which we know many an Apple employee uses to commute from SF to Cupertino. But with the hype this device has, we almost wouldn't put it past some San Francisco supergeek to cruise around with a faux iPhone just to raise some eyebrows boost his geek cred.
Could be!!!
Can't wait!!!

Crowder was awesome last night!!!
Crowder was awesome last night.
He and the band were up to kick off the Arts conference at Willow. They did an incredible job. We were up in the first balcony... great for viewing... terrible for taking pictures.
This was about the only decent picture that I could take. Here, he was breaking out the "Key-tar." It doesn't do justice to the incredible job that Crowder and band do in leading worship. Good times!!!

Dale Earnhardt Jr... in a Hendrick car...
Well, I was somewhat excited when I heard that Dale Jr. was leaving DEI. That NASCAR operation hasn't been healthy since Dale Sr. passed in 2001. It was only a matter of time until it totally fell apart.
But the announcement came out today that Dale Jr. has decided to drive for Hendrick... Gag me!!! Dale Jr. in the same organization as Jeff Gordon (gag) and Jimmy Johnson (gag)! One major problem that I have with this deal is that Hendrick racing has some kind of monopoly on the week to week races... they've won 10 of the last 14. When they throw the green flag, it's just a race to see which Hendrick car will win. That creates no excitement what-so-ever. So, the thought that there would be more Hendrick winners is not appealing to me at all.
NASCAR seems to be on a mission to destroy any notion of interesting racing. The Car of Tomorrow seems to make the racing worse. They are eliminating good race tracks like North Wilksboro and cutting back on races at other good tracks like Darlington. These cookie-cutter tracks like Vegas, Texas, California are all the same and rather than creating good side-by-side, exciting racing, they just create a high-speed-parade (one car follows the one in front of it for 2 1/2 hours) which is totally lame.
When Dale Jr. announced that he was moving on from DEI, I thought "maybe this is the 'something' that creates some more interest on my part in terms of NASCAR.' But which this announcement, it drives me further to think "I can't wait until the NFL starts up again." NASCAR may have lost another fan.
Not that they care... they haven't cared about any of the fan outcry over the last couple of years since instituting the "Chase for the 'Ratings'" so I'm doubting that they will care now.
Oh well... At least I'll have the Bears in the fall and the Cubs over the Spring and the Summer.

The Wedding was great!!!
This weekend was incredible!!!!
This has been probably the longest blog silence since seriously beginning to blog. But I wanted to wait until I could follow up on this weekend before I posted anything else.
The ceremony was simple. It was powerful. It was incredible to stand on that stage and look into the eyes of a guy that I've hung with, cried with, laughed with, ministered with, worked with and challenged to follow Christ for the last 8 or 9 years and hear him committing to his wife Stacy for the rest of his life... Ah man... There are hardly words. It was a powerful, powerful time.
Congratulations to Kraig and Stacy Bishop! I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to be a part of such a powerful time.
I wish I had some good pics to post... but it was dark and most of my pics didn't come out. Sorry.

Wedding... incredible moment!
This weekend I am preparing for one of 'those' moments in youth ministry. One of 'those' moments when you get asked to be a part of something incredible because you were a part of something incredible in someone's life.
This weekend, I will perform my first wedding. I said when I got into fulltime ministry that I wasn't interested in performing weddings or funerals unless it was someone that I had a close connection to. I just don't feel called to do a wedding for everyone who walks into our church building. But this weekend I am marrying one of my former students to his college girlfriend and 'girl of his dreams.' Simply because he asked and he means a lot to me. It's one of those incredible moments in youth ministry that reinforces my commitment to youth ministry for the long haul.
Kraig has heard me teach on marriage, sex, spiritual growth, evangelism, worship, prayer and a myriad of other things... but this weekend, I will have the opportunity to pronounce him a husband and Stacy his wife.
It will be an incredible moment for he and Stacy and for me... well, for me... it will be an unforgetable moment as I will see a man who I think a great deal of and have watched grow from a goofy middle school boy to an incredible man of God and hopefully someday partner in ministry.
More on this later... And hopefully some pictures.
